Joe has at least 20 poles going around the outskirts of his yard and while I was taking photos of his vintage street lights during the Blizzard of 05 I thought it would be only appropriate to show one of his open-wire poles. Yes, all of the circuits work. They provide phone connections with the house along with separate audio circuits for answering machine screening, intercom, signaling (both ways) between his house and multi-line set (adapted for this purpose) and more. Plus there's a pair from his stereo that pipes amplified music into his backyard! All of this is over open wire, and LOTS of it!
