This color doesn't appear very impressive when displayed alone, but when placed with other common aqua shades you can see the contrast. When this insulator is back lit you can pick out a couple of very fine purple threads in the dome. They are very faint, but definitely there. When exposed to a black light it provides a fairly strong glow, indicative of manganese content. The actual insulator pictured contains a touch more of a steel blue hue than seen in the pic.
