The insulators on these poles aren't exactly in service but the poles are. Nowadays the wires are fastened directly to the pins. This pole has brown salt glaze pieces. Don't be fooled by the bright sun - this is crisp winter sunshine and I got frozen taking these pictures and I didn't even attempt trying to climb the poles.
