In the entire CSX system, there are only 3 GP40's left, commonly confused with the much more common GP40-2. This locomotive was doing some switching work in downtown Richmond several weeks ago when this picture was taken. I caught this same locomotive at Bryan Park Engine Terminal yesterday, close to this photo location, and CSX has now put the recording mark "C&O", the locomotive's predecessor owner, beneath the unit number on the cab. The other two GP40's that CSX owns came from the B&O and SCL. Oh how I love these old diesels!
