As some of you may have heard, there was an enormous auroral display the other night and into the early morning hours; Debbie and I noticed it while helping a friend move, and by the time we were able to try to get pictures, our area was clouded over. What to do? Get online, check out the weather maps, and head for an area where some clearer sky might occur. We drove an hour west of our home and set up the cameras, two film and one digital, and got some awesome shots! The film ones are being developed, and this is one from our new Nikon D70 digicam, taken at about 1:30 AM just about 5 minutes from our home (the sky eventually cleared up here while we were gone). Debbie stayed up till about 3:30 AM photographing the stunning displays. We'll probably be adding more shots to the aurora section of our website soon, but in the meantime, here is a quick pic of the show.
