Okay, you can barely see the train in this picture. We had to hide in a cornfield for 3 different trains this particular morning. The second train made a stop, as described below in an excerpt from our Hunt Story: Back to the comforting cover of the cornfield, we waited for the train to pass. Hmmm.... sure seems to be going slow, slower, slowest, stopped. Dang it. With a side line in the next town, it was obviously waiting in coordination with the oncoming train for safe passage. We waited in the corn, thinking perhaps this was a good time to end our day, we conservatively headed back towards the car. We stopped though, as the sound of the train releasing its air brakes from car to car to car to car, a remarkable sound resonating like an echo down the length of the train, it slowly came to life and made its way down the tracks |
