Lefferts Ramshorn

Circa 1849

Marshall Lefferts was heavily involved in the early telegraph industry in many capacities. The ramshorn style insulator imbedded in glass is attributed to him in early books on telegraph. The piece dates to approximately 1849 and different styles have been found. Depending upon style, these are rare to very rare.

The specimen shown here was found in New Hampshire and may be the only known specimen with the original wood mounting block.
