These are soon going to be as extinct like the old-time old coin operated electric meters according to my friends Joe Maurath, Jr. and Dave Dahle. These fellows have some nice antique watt hour meters in their collections and have very fulfilled backgrounds about them. The meter shown is a Sangamo, made in the 1960s. It has a second set of dials to indicate the kwh usage during the preset off-peak hours. That off-peak dial-set is the one underneath and with red pointers. All other kwh is shown in the upper register with black pointers. During off-peak times kwh is automatically switched within the meter to the off-peak load. Information provided by Joe Maurath, Jr. and Dave Dahle.
