Most people agreed that this is a light cover, though one person thought it could be a candy dish, and one person is sure it is a part to a candle holding lantern that can be put in the garden. This last one seems the most likely to me, and I will update once I verify. Thanks for all the help!!!

Can anyone help me identify this strange piece of glassware? Doesn't seem like a very practical design for a drinking glass, what on earth is it? 3 1/2 inches tall, 3 inches wide, no markings...
