My uncle was a volunteer fireman and got this for the family about 20+ years ago when they were upgrading the system. We had a dog and my parents wanted the real thing in the yard for when we'd take him for a walk. Its dated 1925 and is made by R.D. Wood. Elton Gish's posting about fire hydrants caught my attention because I just so happen to have one too. These things are HEAVY... about as heavy as a 10 foot section of telephone pole. ;-) I can't get over the number of different style of fire hydrants made.
