This example matches shards found at the King City Glass Works factory (Fairmount, Indiana). This spool belongs to Jack Roach and was displayed at the Wheaton Collector's Show. This interesting discovery adds to the excitement of spool collecting. I was happy to learn I have one already in my collection. I believe this is a CD 1104 but currently not listed as attributed to KCGW. Identification tip: Check your CD 1104's for a fully flush base (no plunger indentation on one side) with numerous concentric circles. They are typically faint lines that look similar to the growth rings seen inside the trunks of an old tree. My CD 1104 (NE KCGW) doesn't have the extended base, so maybe the spool in the photo is a CD 1105. Thanks to Rick Soller for correction on location.
