Looking for a white background to photograph some insulators outdoors, I hit upon the idea of cutting the side out of a white plastic bucket. Then I cut a piece of the scrap side to use as a bottom, to prop the insulator up from the real bottom of the bucket. The front edge of the new bottom is supported by a short piece of white plastic water pipe. Using a bucket that way, all the edges are rounded --I have no square edges to form distracting lines. The bucket is probably only about 90% white, but it works OK, as you can see from the example. |
