Today is the 140th birthday of the CD 145 Beehive! Samuel Oakman received his design patent #14,674 [https://reference.insulators.info/patents/detail/?patent=14674&type=D] on February 12, 1884. Western Union soon adopted this style as their standard and many companies produced some form of CD 145.

This photo is my display of CD 145s from the 2023 Platte City show. They're in chronological order (as far as I could determine) starting with American Insulator Company's first attempts at the top left to Hemingray's last run in 1948 on the bottom right.
