Anyone who's ever watched the 1984 movie Red Dawn remembers the call of there resistance group Wolverines. I never thought I would find it on a nail knob. This reversable nail knob based on patent US 1,048,850 for Findlay Electric Porcelain Co. (Buckeye knob) is almost exact in shape except for the triangles on top instead of raised dots. Measures 1 5/8" H X 1 1/8" W. Embossed Wolverine on top in an arc. After doing some reserch online I found an article on Rural Electrification in the late 1930's that mentions Wolverine Electric Co which was formed in 1948 for electric lines runing south in Michigan. Then merged with Northern Michigan Cooperative to form Wolverine Power Cooperative in 1953. Seeing that these insulators came from a Michigan seller from an old house their, it would be a good assumption that these were made for them. And they are still in buissness today.
