Non-railroad Telegraph!

Here's a second picture. This one is 1 pole after the last one. Appears to be a DOMINION - 42 CD 155 which is what indicates that it might be telegraph. Also, the pole after this one is the one on the other side of the highway. The one on the other side of the highway is the last one that I could see insulators on, it had a CD 1049 aluminum 4-part transposition bracket bolted to the side! There were still lengthy copper wire pieces attached! I've never seen anything like it! This is just outside of Cambridge, ONT. Let me know if you have any ideas as to why these telegraph insulators would be in the air! I would think one would need more than 2 wires to run a successful telegraph operation.
