Here is a great telegraph piece that has been in Connecticut its entire life after it left the Brookfield factory. Removed from service in New Haven, Connecticut and passed down to be part of an old collection I purchased several years ago.

This insulator falls under the new [050] EIN under Brookfield but is unlisted due to the prominent "8" shop number on the rear crown. Front crown: W.U.T. CO. / CAUVETS PAT / W. BROOKFIELD // Rear Crown: 8 / FEB. 22. 1870 / NO. 55 FULTON. ST. N.Y. (I am confident - though not certain - on punctuation, due to it being on the weak side).

The insulator is unmolested and not cleaned and has a visible milky swirl through the skirt and dome. The damage consists of three base flakes and one small open bubble.
