A color you never see in glass insulators because of the cost of materials to make red glass. A color glaze you never see in porcelain insulators because manufacturers were unable to glaze this color without adverse changes in the glaze. This is a color STILL pursued by collectors-- the proverbial unicorn.

Telltale signs of alteration are the thick, blotchy glaze and the lack of an unglazed firing rest.
