Suspect Pieces/ Outright Fakes Only

No heat altered or irradiated pieces.

Sounds like this is a go. I need two more helpers. Especially one that can be there Sunday to check out pieces after I have to leave around 10:30am.

Please email me or call me if you can help or if you have pieces for the display. 620-779-1741

More info below:

I have an idea for the display, but will need a couple volunteers to help me. I can't do it alone in addition to setting up lighted cases for the Friday auction and manning three sales tables by myself.

It's never been done before to my knowledge and I'm sure a few won't like the idea, but I'd like to have everyone bring their suspect and outright fake pieces and have a combined educational display.

It seems that most collectors have one or two suspect pieces on a shelf somewhere. I have 3-4 myself that I've picked up in collection purchases over the years.

There would be no commemoratives or marked private issue full size or minis. Just suspected recently manufactured pieces and unmarked private issue full size pieces. I'm sure there are a few 162 NAJ signals floating around that didn't get marked.

Also, no heat altered or irradiated pieces. The traveling NIA exhibit does a great job of education on those pieces.

Let me know your thoughts. Good or bad. Pro or con. And I'll go from there.

Hoping this will be a positive experience for myself and the hobby. Educating the new and young collectors is key to preventing the fakers and dishonest dealers from taking advantage of their lack of knowledge.
