Some of my favorite estate sales are those of lineman and I will travel long distances to pick one. Sometimes there are scads of insulators picked straight from the poles, unfiltered by dozens of other hands and eyeballs that leave you the leftovers at other sales. But how do you tell if you have a lineman's estate or not, if the estate liquidator doesn't think it is important enough to tell you? You have got to look at the visual clues provided in the estate sale photos. Is there any lineman equipment displayed? A retired lineman will keep his belt and climbing spikes long after he has sold or discarded his other gear. These 10-foot long pole shovels are a sure sign you should be paying closer attention.
