I've decided to part with one of my Bostons. I got it from a gentleman who had it in his basement in the Popham Beach, Maine, area for over fifty years. He told me he got it when they wrecked out the open wire in that region. This one is EIN [010] (Base of inner skirt) BOSTON BOTTLE WORKS/PATENT APPLIED FOR {Four segmented threads} {MLOD} SB in Aqua with amber squiggles. Here is an excruciatingly detailed description of the condition from worst to less bad: In the composite photo, you can see the base chip. There is also an open base bubble visible just left of but separate from the chip. In addition, if you zoom in on the base shot directly next to the open bubble, you can see a very short scuff/bruise on the inside edge of the inner skirt that does not affect the embossing, which is perfect, as are the segmented threads (often subject to chipping). And finally, there is a pinpoint peck on the edge of the lower wire ridge located above and to the right of the base chip, a teeny-tiny wire rub in the groove, and you might find a surface scratch or two if you look very closely with a magnifying glass. All in all, it's in a lot better shape than many of these that I've seen. Also, it does have those nice amber/olive squiggles running around the skirt and generous dome glass as well as some light fizz that shows up with base or back lighting, which you can also see in the photos. Sold for $1,900, including postage and insurance.
