While on a Viking River Cruise on the Danube in June of 2017 we passed through the lock at the Iron Gate Dam between Romania and Serbia. This photo is of the first tower leading into Serbia from the dam. Each country owns their own half of the dam and the power turbines from that half.

This tower has 12 transmission lines, two per turbine. Each set of lines has six strings of 22 large glass suspension discs for a total of 792 insulators per tower!

Wondering if anyone has ever seen a tower with more insulators than these?
