I won this in a local online auction this week. It is not one of the listed EINs as far as I can tell because there is an A on the "back". The main embossing is on the inside of the skirt (this is not noted in the Price Guide, so I'm not sure if they are all like this). The embossing is not really on the front/back as delineated by the mold lines. It actually is like this (| represents the mold lines): | A PYREX T.M. REG. U.S. PAT. OFF|. MADE IN U.S.A. 553

I can see how the text would not necessarily match the mold lines if there was a separate inner metal piece that formed the inside of the skirt and had the embossing on it. The A is actually embossed on the outside of the skirt. The color is definitely a yellow tint, not clear.
