These are a gray glazed example of the first ball socket suspensions ever produced and put on the market . Produced in the 1909-1914 era these are one of the most historically significant of all early suspension insulators . These had a rather high failure rate in service do to cracking and puncture, cap failure etc. . Very few of these early units have thus survived, most having long ago been changed out for more modern units . Most were removed from service by the 1930's. These gray glazed units being the hardest of these to find .

I was able to find a couple of four unit strings in the remote mountains of Idaho last weekend and am offering then here. All the discs are dead mint and the caps are clean and rust free . All have the early triangle OB logo on the cap . If you like early suspensions this may be a once in a lifetime opportunity as these are a 100 year old insulator that never comes up for sale.
