On a trip to California last year, I hiked up Mt. McLoughlin in southern Oregon. There used to be a fire lookout tower on the 9,500 foot summit, and apparently there was some sort of line going up. Near the summit, a little ways of the trail, I was shocked to see a broken little porcelain nob insulator. At the summit I also found a broken wall tube. Nothing very exiting, but still a very interesting place to find insulators, and probably my most notable insulator hunt. |
