Here is a picture of that battery jar I bought at a bottle collector's estate sale. It is a small aqua jar that holds only a quart, no waterline mark. It reads: (arc) THE IMPROVED / PATENTED / POROUS CUP BATTERY CO / NEW YORK / PATD (D is underlined, small, uppercase) OCT 26 1886 / TRADEMARK / C J H (last letters are bracketed by four stars). Can't find any information on it. Any battery jar collectors out there who knows something about it?
