This piece has one small thumb nail sized chip on the lower wire groove ridge but is otherwise it is dead mint . I believe these were intended to be used in some sort of industrial situation where the pin did not actually support the insulator but rather the pin just held it in position wile the weight of the heavy cable and support insulator rested on the flat lower petticoat . Although darker in color then the more common 1 5/8 thread pinhole "Boston subway" versions in lighter glazes, These darker ones are no less interesting and quite scarce in collections ..
