This is certainly one of the most unique and beautiful early colored porcelain insulators produced in north America. These were produced as a special custom order for a line that ran between Shoshone Falls and Bule, Idaho in 1907. The unique speckled blue-green glaze occurs on no other insulators that have ever been found by collectors . This piece has a more greenish base and a top that leans more towards blue green. the top has a single fracture line that curves around a 2" long piece of the rim that was reattached sealed with epoxy. There is also a repair line around the neck of the collar that was epoxied and some glaze flakes painted over near the joint . There are no other chips or damage on the top . The base has a nickel sized chip on the rim that was repaired and painted to match the glaze The base it is otherwise whole with no other damage .
