This photograph was taken in Armourdale, Kansas at the corner of Kansas Avenue and Sixth Street following the great flood of 1903. Citizens gather in the center of the photo to discuss "what to do next." Note the extensive damage to the existing structures due to the high flood waters. Notice the downed pole with four cross arms off to the right in the background. It was reported that nearly 10,000 workers, lost their jobs due to the flooding which destroyed packing houses, factories and rail yards and shops in the area.
