WHAT DOES THIS SIGN TALK ABOUT?

Here's one for you to ponder. What do you think, is this is an old Trolley Line sign? Showing a route or maybe actually on the top front of the trolley car itself. It's 5 3/4" x 36". The sign is white porcelain, (front and back), on metal and the black has been painted on. Found it in a guy's barn near Missoula but he doesn't know where it came from as he got it in a trade several years ago. This sign is interesting and the guy is a car and ATV type and he had few signs so I think it's genuine. The holes in the white porcelain look to be punctures or from a .22 rifle. The only actual mounting holes are on each end in the black.

It's also been speculated that this sign may designate a power line. The thought is it may have been located in a sub-station and told the various crews where the line heading off in that direction went.

Interested to hear your ideas, thoughts, WAGs, and musings.

Thanks, Roger
