Crude single-wire line

Here is a line on the Oregon-California border that used porcelain spools. The wire ran through the hole in the spools, and the spools were tied to trees, poles or whatever was handy. It's unknown at this time what this line was used for, but it does somewhat parallel the old Pokegama rail bed.
