Well I finally know what these things are...[id=460119810] A number have been found in the Victor dump but none of us knew what they were till now . I strongly suspect this contraption was actually something manufactured for lifting some sort of VERY heavy object that needed to be insulated ... as in a pot in an aluminum smelter ... The porcelain is very thick and the1908 photo strongly suggests the entire thing was made of heavy steel
