Here is a Hemingray/Owens Illinois bottle in the 7-Up Green color so familiar to Hemingray insulator collectors. I was told that the bottle was originally for prune juice, and there is no embossing save the base, which says 3 [O.I. logo] 4/PAT.APPL'D.FOR. I assume this means it was manufactured in 1934. The cap is aluminum (?) and has the Good Housekeeping seal of approval. The specific embossing says [arc] HEMINGRAY GLASS COMPANY/(in oval superimposed over star) [arc] Tested and Approved/by the/GOOD HOUSEKEEPING INSTITUTE/SERIAL NO. 3057/Conducted by/[arc] GOOD HOUSEKEEPING MAGAZINE/[arc] MUNCIE, INDIANA. Click on View Original for greater detail. The bottle is 6 1/2" tall, 5 1/2" across the middle, and 3" wide; the cap is 1 5/8" in diameter. I find no damage to the glass beyond some light surface scratches. The cap has some dents as shown. Since this doesn't have the more intricate embossing of another recent offering, let's keep the price well below three figures for this one. Inquiries welcome.

[Addendum: I have learned that there is a later version of this same bottle with the same embossing on the bottom, but the word SUNSWEET was added to the mold in the blank space between the two extant lines of embossing, so the prune juice story would seem to hold up.] E.B.
