Toll circuits on rather beefy poles likely ran along the multiple-crossarm line along the left. Subscriber lines were on the right with their tightly strung wires beneath the tall tree foliage above them.

Added note: There might be white or glass knobs between the wood insulator pins on the upper crossarm on the pole on the far right. For exactly what purpose, I do not know...but maybe for connecting dead-ended individual wires since this is a buck-arm (end) pole. Note that there are FIVE crossarms atop the same right-hand pole. And their wires do not appear to be strung to the 5-armer on the left! Covered lead-sheathed paired cable held in place with bridle rings also is within view.
