Came across these 4 insulators today, along with a bunch of commons buried under a ton of junk in a barn! From what I can tell (they are dirty), they are all EIN 015. The one with the tire wire appears VNM and is possibly milky aqua, but not sure until it gets cleaned. The other 3 have various degrees of small damage.

So, I want to soak these in my lye bath, but what to do about the original tie wire? I like it on the insulator, but not sure if the wire should go in lye. Thanks for the help as always.
