Unhappy 69kV pole

This is what 'galloping' conductors can do to a pole. I'm sure Xcel is counting their blessings that this section of 69kV line has been switched out of service for years! However, the 23.9kV open Y line down below is still in use.

This line section sat like this for three months before repairs. The multiparts were all replaced with polymer yuk insulators - including the crossarm.

Another ice storm hit this line a bit further west, and it seems the company gave up on this line. This remaining segment was a normally-open segment serving as a backup tie to an adjacent company's 69kV system, but the switch connections from that tie point to the next substation have all been severed, suggesting this section has indeed been permanently retired.
