An Italian made Goddard patent. This insulator was made in Italy in 1925 by Fabbrica Isolatori Livorno that evidently obtained license to use the Goddard patents. As their US counterparts, also the Italian Goddards showed the same problems, i.e. bad cracking of top skirt due to cement growth. The cracks can easily be seen in the picture, as are also the large stencil made markings, that were typical of FIL insulators. Because of their cracking problems, these insulators are extremely rare. I found six of them on an abandoned transformer house and this was the only whole one, also very difficult to take down, but worth.
