While visiting my brother in law in Cincinnati recently, I spied this little guy on his shelf. A few years ago I sparked his interest in insulators. I gave him my old price guide. Now he watches for insulators at flea markets and garage sales, and he picks up anything that looks "different." He noticed the junk in this piece and picked it up for a buck. He had no idea what the junk was, so I explained the whole fire-brick phenomenon to him. Needless to say, we worked out an equitable deal and the piece came home with me. A pretty cool piece acquired days before the mid-Ohio show!
