M-2332 Freed Locke insulators from the pole in St Louis

Here are both pieces from the pole on Lynch Street in St Louis . The ends of the crossarms and pins were also saved. Both pieces are now cleaned of 110 years of grime from their long life in service . The unit on the left was produced by Fred M.Locke of Victor, N.Y around 1903, wile the unit on the right has a manufacturing date of Dec-17 1901 making it perhaps the oldest cemented porcelain pin type left in service in north America at the time of it's removal . The unit on the right is notable also because it was the only surviving example of Fred M. Locke's "Victor combination " cemented pin type designs(which included the gutter tops left in service in modern times . Here's the pole where with them in service a few months ago ..[id=327343233]
