Photo taken along Washington Street near the intersection of Worcester Street of the old Boston "El". Shown between the two sections of track are rows of Jumbo pins, mostly unused. Three lines supported by CD 269 insulators can also be seen. This railway was torn down during 1988-89. I recall only one of these "crossarms" remaining in service at that time. Apparently the cables had been removed many years before since all of the pins on that solitary "arm" were very weathered. CD 269 Jumbos were used on the track section nearest the city. On its other (westerly) section, four CD 267 cables were employed along with many heavy duty porcelain cleats along the center-way between the tracks for carrying the 600 VDC transit car current. The CD 269 insulators had been long gone before the El's decomissioning. None have been located attributed to this historic urban railway.
