CD 150 Barclay insulator (front view)

This is a very rare CD 150 embossed "BARCLAY". Without a doubt, it's a Hemingray product. It was found on a pole in St. Louis a number of years ago. The base was heavily damaged, but this restoration, although not perfect, shows what the original piece would look like. The repair could be removed and redone so it would be barely noticeable.

In Stuart's Insulator Guide in 1968 there is a very detailed drawing clearly showing a CD 147 embossed BARCLAY. Collectors have always wondered if this insulator really existed or if they just labeled it BARCLAY because of the patent date.

Given the quality and detail provided in the Stuart's Guide, compared to say Tibbitts, one does have to wonder if a CD 147 BARCLAY really did exist...
