Info about this Pole Cap with insulator pin ** ANSWERED **

Anyone have any info about this pole cap? Any would be appreciated. SEE BELOW FOR ANSWER.

It is verrry heavy and made of cast iron.

Here is another picture Lou mentioned to me of one method of securing the cast iron cap to the pole. Lou also noted that this cap had the pin as part of the casting.

* * U P D A T E * *

Consensus is that these caps were used on cast iron street light poles for street lighting, or were added to existing trolley poles for street lighting. Toronto has extensive Street Car (trolleys) in use even today. I imagine these caps originated from downtown Toronto and were used in the day, and have since been replaced.
