Here an insulator for your to consider while sipping your coffee this morning. Some of you may recognize this as the insulator that was up for auction at the E-Place. You are correct. Seems the winning bidders credit line was lowered without his knowledge before placing his bid. And, as some of you Iconers know there was some shady business going on with the three highest bidders. After the auction ended the winning bidder contacted the seller to inform him of his credit problem. The seller was aware through me that the next bidders in line were relatives of the winning bidder and therefore didn't want to deal with any of those persons. Instead he has requested that I list it for sale at Icon. Therefore you are reading this page. I am uploading four views of this insulator. Right side, left side, top and bottom.

As most Iconers know already the book value placed on this insulator is $15,000-20,000. The asking sellers asking price is $16,500. There has been speculation elsewhere on Icon that another of these tea pots will be available after this one sells. That is not certain. It is true that the owner has claimed he found two 15 years ago. However, as far as I know he hasn't been able to locate the second insulator in his house. I have no reason to disbelieve what I've been told. What I do know is the insulator on this page is or was the one in the better condition.

This insulator has sold. Please no emails asking for the buyers name or amount paid. I'm leaveing all the above information for Icons memory file. There were many viewers of this page and many followers of this particular insulator and its journey. One day as you view this page again you may recall how this precious piece of glass was able to bring out either the best of worse in members posting their thoughts on Icons forum. The situation became so far out of control that or web master would no longer allow this CD 971's nickname the Tea Pot to be mentioned on the forum.
