According to our rmost qualified expert on insulators made in Italy, the 2UM was never produced with a green stripe. These three 2UMS were used on the Rome - Fiuggi railroad, and all were white with, no stripes.

Also, to my somewhat untrained eye, the red and green stripes on the two insulators are the wrong colors, and they look too "perfect" as there is usually some streaking in the stripes, and the colors are too "strong" as compared to the real "stripers" that I've seen Also on real "stripers" the color stripe is applied before glazing and firing, these appear to be painted and cooked .

These are curently listed on the e-place, but one has to excavate a bit to find them. The red should be more "pinkish" and the green should be more "olive" and the colors should be painted on prior to the glazxing / firing process.

I'd bet on the strong possibility of some "creative artistry" on these two suspects. Most likely heat-stained or simply painted on.
