Donated insulators ready to install on a pole at the Oregon Electric Railway Museum in 2002. They are 1908 vintage Victor M-2435 multiparts used on an old Pacific Power line near Moro, OR. Donated by collector Ed Sellberg of Vancouver WA., they are part of group of 45 of this type he contributed. We were putting up 6 of these on this pole since it was a double arm pole at the start of a curve. In line with the recent thread on ICON, discussion of 'how rare of an insulator would you display at a museum?' came about. I can tell you that if the multiparts in this photo were Lima's, Fred Locke's or New Lexingtons, they would not be installed here! This display is a real world situation, the risks are things like storm damage, bird hunter's gunshots and vandalism. Besides, the birds poop all over them anyway! I did take a chance on a couple of poles however and have a 1907 blue gray Victor M-2618A 'kitsulator' and a Fred Locke glazeweld installed.
