Byron, Illinois Milwaukee RR Depot Rams Horn Insulators. This is about 1971 . The Rams horn Insulators and depot were built about 1883 or so. Enjoy the picture. More are posted in the vintage photos section.

The RR tracks were double main line back then and are now just a single line now..I guess when they went bankrupt the needed money and tore the one line up for scrap steel money. The UPRR just south of Byron thru Rochelle, Ill. is the main line east to west now. They just removed their glass insulator line and I missed some pretty nice glass...A lot of brookfields with amber and Hem 21's..
