This is the shorter arm version, with only one joint per side. As you can see on these three pieces, the lettering stands out very nicely.

As the patent date for most of these units reads April 12, 1910, I would imagine these pieces were made slightly before that date.

All the 18 fireplugs I have are made from dry process porcelain. It seems the left piece has split and been re-glued.
