YPCIC 2009 - A pair of killer CD 127's

Wow, what a group! A couple pieces for show and tell.

The piece on the left is really odd. Look at the pronounced lower wire ridge. It is not a strange camera angle, this piece does actually taper from the below the wire groove to the base. The base being slightly narrower. I can only match it with [010] in the price guide. It is also a beautiful green.

The second piece is only one of a few known of the CD 127 unembossed "3 piece mold" Hemingray products. A very early production piece. The piece has very sharp threads, almost like the Pennycuick threads. Some felt that the sharp threads would allow it to also screw on a threadless pin. We estimated the date of the piece to be the late 1860's. It is without doubt a Hemingray piece and in the aqua to dark aqua color range. This is the [020] listing in the price guide.

It was felt by all that these pieces were significantly undervalued... The Hemingray probably underalued by at least an order of magnitude... (Ask Dario what that means... ;-)
