I may have found one of the only known pictures showing an actual E.C.& M. in service on a pole! I found the picture on a website Online Archive of California and its from the Anaheim Public Library. The time frame, the location, and as far as I can tell, the shape of the insulator (tube-like with a flat top) and even the rounded taper at the top of the pole makes it a good candidate for being an E.C. & M. I'm not sure if E.C. & M. used the metal bands on the top of their crossarm poles or not. The picture was dated 1876 and shows Center Street (now Lincoln Ave.) in Anaheim, California.
