Pole lines along the (former) Missouri Pacific came down years ago, but here and there, a pole was left when it also supported some other local power or telephone line. This pole contains nothing particularly rare, but offers an example of how paired crossarms were used to transpose wire positions. The top arm is believed to have carried Western Union circuits, although no pole line diagram has been located to confirm that suspicion. This pole was located adjacent to a depot (now also removed), and the wires extending down pole perhaps fed telegraph and dispatcher phone lines into and out of the depot. These views were taken in February 2009.
