This is a picture of a telephone system IDF (Intermediate Distribution Frame) wiring. The white blocks are called "66 blocks" - each side handles 25 pairs of wire. The center group are lines from the phone system and the outer rows connect to the various station locations. This was in the ceiling of one of our campus buildings and served just one floor of the building. It was later removed and relocated into the phone room itself where the PBX is located. IDF's like this are typically located in each building and sometimes on each floor.
